My uber-cool lil’ sister introduced me to Design Sponge. Please tell me you’re cooler than me and have been in the know about this fab site for a long, long time.
I heart their ‘Before & After’ section. Nothing inspires me more than seeing something UGLY turned into something GORGEOUS.
Here are a few of my favorite transformations:
So chic and so simple!

Love the way they mimicked the pattern of the fabric on the back of the chair.

Uhhhhh…Making a child’s bed out of old wooden pallets????????? GENIUS.

I want a gray and yellow bedroom.

Fab kitchen. The light fixture is my favorite touch in this room.
What inspires you???

What inspires me? I actually love what they did with the antlers in the green and yellow nursery. Who would have ever thought to put antlers in a babies’ room and spray paint them glossy red?!? A woman would have to find her own antlers somewhere because a man would rather die first! We have enough pallets here on the farm to supply all your readers with new beds for their babes, y’all just come ‘n get ‘em. And I’m sure there are plenty of other treasures in one of Lee’s five barns so please, bring trailers!!!

Love the kids bed out of crates, being a mom of 2 boys I can so see that!
The only dislike was the painting on all of the beautiful antiques. I would rather see them refinished so the beauty of the wood stood out. Just my preference.

Does the fact that I’ve been reading design sponge for over a year now make me cooler than you? ;) I love this site! I’m so inspired by that one and could spend all day blog-hopping looking at all the amazingly creative people out there! I love it when people view old/used/junky things in a whole new way (like the pallet bed!) and turn them into something beautiful or useful. That inspires me!
