Eat This.

Last night for dinner, I made another PW recipe from my fab cookbook.  You know, the one signed by PW herself?  Yeah, that one.

No, I’m not obsessed.  Why do you ask?

I have to space out our PW meals because each recipe involves a whole lotta butta.  And the last thing my honkin’ hiney needs right now is a whole lotta butta.

My neighbor, Adriane, recently raved about Marlboro Man’s Favorite Sandwich, so I thought I’d give it a try.

Oh.  My.  Goodness.

So yummy.

So easy.

So husband pleasin’.

So suddenly-very-picky-two-year-old pleasin’.

In an attempt to cancel out all the butter used in the recipe, I served the ‘wiches up with a side of steamed broccoli.  Not exactly the kind of side you think of when bellying up to a big hearty sandwich, but whatev.  This family happens to love broccoli and, by golly, we’ll eat it with pretty much anything.

Anyway, broccoli aside, we all thought the sandwich was great. Travis “mmmmmd” and “oooooohd” and “aaaaaaahd” throughout the meal.

Arle threw her hands in the air and exclaimed, “I WUV IT!!!”

As most PW recipes do, it made a load.  If you’re not into leftovers make a half-recipe.  Our family, thank the Lord, happens to love leftovers almost as much as broccoli.  I intentionally try to make things that provide leftovers, just so I don’t have to cook every single night.

Why would anybody not eat LEFTOVERS?!! They’d all starve flat to death at Harrisville if they wouldn’t. LEFTOVERS ROCK around here and are the staple diet.
My grandmother was accused of having a pot of beans simmering on the back of the stove until they were all gone…a big pot of beans. She taught me well, altho I do put them in the fridge at night.

If we’re lucky, sometimes we even have more than one LEFTOVER in the fridge at a time. Gotta keep life simple around here. The cooking’s fun and good, but, pllleeeaaase, not every night!

Anyway, since Santa obviously forgot to leave Kimmy a PW cookbook under the tree, she’s just gonna hafta go out and get herself one. Thanks for enticing her w/ these yummy looking recipes. She thinks her Marlboro Man will luv ‘em, too.
    XOXOXO

I heart PW and her butta eatin’ ways! Brian and I are obsessed with her cajun meatloaf (not found in her book, but readily available on her website). I’lll admit to not being the biggest meatloaf fan, but its SO yummy! Looks like we’re going to be trying Marlboro Man’s sandwich next!

I have been wanting to make this. We had Marlboro Man’s second favorite sandwich the other night and it was great! The recipe is on the website. Try it next with broccoli of course. Anything green makes me feel better about what I am eating.
