I’ve always thought it would be fabulous to have a personal chef, so I’ve decided to train Arle to fill this void in my life. Don’t get me wrong…I’m not some crazy proponent of child labor or anything, I just want her to learn the joy of cooking early on, so that someday (when she’s, say, 6 or 7) I will hear these precious words, “No, Mommy, you just go sit down and put your feet up. I’ll take care of dinner.”
She actually enjoys it, too. She loves to sit on the countertop and pour the ingredients out of the measuring cups and then, “Stir, stir!” she says. I think it’s fabulous! She recently helped make our Saturday morning pancakes and discovered that she liked the batter as much as the finished product. Yes, it may be messy and it definitely takes longer, but I know these will be great memories down the road.

I can’t wait for you to hear those words, either, major blog on THAT day!!
Although, I remember being told one Mother’s Day, that you, Brandon, and
Trenton were fixing my breakfast and you served it to me in bed. Arle will
grow up to be a fabulous chef like her Mommy!
